thanks to the friendly hint of Misha I had the pleasure to visit the concert of the rising star “Justice” tonight at Terminal 5. And I have to say: WOW, this was intense.

They are (live) like a mixture between Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers, but just harder. Their album is rather soft, so I was quite surprised that their live set is pure hardcore electronic rock. They are even so smart to have their own visual sign for the audience (hold up your arms to form a cross). And they look like rockstars, too. Although I would have NEVER guessed their age right. They look like end 30sh. Google their age and be surprised.

The crowed got so wild that for some moments my feet didn’t touch the floor because it was so tight and the crowed moved as a whole (and I simply lifted them, just to see if I can without falling on the floor. Well, I could.). This was really intense. and painful, since I got punched superhard to my rips last Friday and movements are a little bit bitchy since then. And with the added pressure from the crowd … , well, you can imagine that it was somehow an interesting mixture between pleasure and pain.

Last not least I have to thank for a little miracle. Lost my glasses on the floor and although it took me 2 minutes to find them (it was pretty dark) they didn’t have a scratch despite the fact that I was surrounded by a stomping mob.

But enough said, have fun with the pics and the video
(the first images are from the warm up band “Midnight Juggernaughts”, last two are “Justice”) …

so here it finally was, my second tournament. somehow I managed to be on time (although I overslept, big time, had to wait for the Q train forever and missed my station because it was (of course) the only station where I couldn’t see the station name from my seat. oh well. but the day was GORGEOUS, with degrees around 23C and perfect blue sky so I didn’t mind a little bit walking).

Forms was first but I shouldn’t have tried my new combination which I only know for a week now, fucked it up somehow (oh, and my stances are way to high as I discovered on the video footage, need to work on that).

Next thing was the fighting/sparring, first one against a yellow belt, which was to my big surprise really fast, reminded me big time of my performance 6 months ago, although I wasn’t as flexible at that time.

Next fight was against a green belt, and god this guy was good. it was impossible to hit him, he evaded each and every move. and landed a perfect kick to my groan.
Taekwondo fight, delicate hit

which you couldn’t really see on the video, only that I suddenly had to bend a little bit … (at this moment I LOVED my protective gear, although it was still quite painful). At the end he blocked one of my kicks so fast and hard directly against my shin, that I couldn’t walk afterwards (and won’t be able for a while without pain. again. sigh.). The blow was so fast that you can see it in the video only on one frame and only as a blurish movement. He fought against a black belt afterwards and … won. with the black belt on the floor holding his foot, unable to walk out and get his trophy later on. this guy seemed to have quite some reputation, because the crowed kept cheering at him “go on, crazy boy”

but enough said, see for yourself, here is the second fight.

btw, went I went to my favourite club at 3am after the other one, the bouncer was as of a sudden kinda repulsive “can I help you sir?”, blocking the entrace because he didn’t recognize me … :D (but as soon as I started talking he laughed like crazy “god, you have way too many looks man” and let me in of course ;) )

ohhhhh those japanese people. now they made a site which reminds me somehow on the inside of my brain. lots of ticks, fucking nutty, random girl action and super smooth funky tunes (left leg, right leg, move! dance!).

just can’t help myself keep starring at this site. reminds me again why I love this culture soooo much.

start sneak peak

friday night, nothing spectacular going on and suddenly there it is: a surprise sms from lovely awesome Babsi-Chan, saying she has just landed at JFK and if we can hang out. haven’t seen her since I arrived here in NY, so this was a very pleasant super fanatically awesome surprise. After exchanging some sms we decided its best if she crushes at my place since she only stays for two days and we have the urgent need and obligation to rock the city. after many many hugs and frantic jumping up and downs we dressed up and used the occasion to make some rather fancy pics (best shot first (loveloveloveloveit) and then the whole collection).

) and most of my friends being there. aaaaargh! fuck. I was extremely pissed. but I stayed home. 2 sessions with my main chiropractic mike later I was completely healed and restored again. almost unbelievable for me regarding how much pain I had. which will come in very handy because there is a Taekwondo tournament this weekend. looking forward to some kick ass fun action …. :D

where is george?

imagine you want to pay something and while looking at one of the one dollar bills you notice something odd, a stamp placed on it, saying “This is a registered bill. Track this bill www.whereisgeorge.com“.

of course you get curious. check out the site. and discover that there is a funny private currency tracking project going on. and they already have a spin off for the canadian currency, too. please, someone make the same for the euro …
